  • Do you only work with those who have mental health conditions?
No! All of us need to look after out mental health and wellbeing don't we? If you feel the link between your fitness, activity, wellbeing and mental health then I want to work with you. If you want a Personal Trainer with a compassionate, informed and holistic approach - then drop me a line!
  • Do I need to have been officially diagnosed with depression or anxiety?
No you don’t. For many reasons, not everyone who is depressed or anxious is able to take the step of visiting their GP. WellbeingFIT is about how you feel and what you need to feel empowered and to look after your wellbeing.
  • What are your qualifications?
I am a Level 4 Mental Health Personal Trainer. Here is how I got there... In 2018 (after having been a stay-at-home parent to our three children) I obtained my Level 3 Personal Training Diploma with Exercise Referral at Train Fitness in Southwark. In 2020 I gained my Level 4 Mental Health Specialist qualification with The Wright Foundation. Also in 2020 I completed my Level 3 Pre and Post Natal Pregnancy qualification - so I can work with soon-to-be and new mum's! I am a member of the Register of Exercise Professionals – Member ID R0178281. I am fully insured.
  • How are you different from other personal trainers?
Like all fantastic personal trainers, I am passionate about health and fitness. Other qualities I share with other PT’s are the ability to listen; to work towards goals; keeping people motivated; remaining professional at all times; respecting confidentiality; being committed to continuous learning within the health and fitness industry; and of course, the ability to make exercise and activity energising, inspirational and fun! Where I am different to other PT’s is my focus on wellbeing and mental health. Wellbeing encompasses physical, mental and emotional health, and how you evaluate yourself. My approach therefore begins with a much broader view of what a PT can offer to people in order to have a positive impact on their overall health. Exercise and mental health are more commonly recognised as being closely linked, and my aim is to bring these two aspects of our lives together in equal prominence. So, with WellbeingFIT you can expect a mentor-based approach to your fitness with a PT who not only wants to help you with your physical goals but to also enable and empower you to reach your mental and emotional aspirations. My approach is therefore centred around empathy, understanding, respect, and positive motivation. I am committed to building relationships with local mental health providers so that I can sign-post you to services you may need. This will be an ongoing process and it is my hope that I can build a comprehensive network of people, charities and organisations who can also help you on your journey to gaining and maintaining a positive sense of wellbeing.
  • When and where can you do personal training sessions?
I am based in Ticehurst, East Sussex and can travel to certain areas of East Sussex and Kent (travel charge may be applicable for longer distances). I generally work in the great outdoors due to the benefits it has on our mental health. So your garden or a local park would be ideal. All equipment will be supplied. I am available during the week mainly during school hours and some evenings. However I will always do my best to accommodate you where possible – so if you require alternative times then just ask!
  • What level of fitness do I need to have to begin with?
You can be an absolute beginner! I would be delighted to work with those of you taking their first steps towards having a healthier and happier lifestyle. In equal measure, for those of you who have an advanced level of fitness, I would love nothing better than to provide you with new challenges. **as long as you have no pre-existing health conditions making exercise potentially harmful for you.
  • What equipment do I need to bring?
Just a drink, comfortable clothes and footwear, and maybe a towel! Everything else will be supplied.
  • What do I need to wear?
Comfortable clothing for exercise and supportive trainers.
  • Is there an age restriction?
16+ (18+ for the RunTalkRun group)
